The head lights have a rubber piece on them, you need to pull off the rubber peice without being scared of it tearing. Then there is a clip which holds the back peice of teh light in place. You must push it in and slightly up and it will unhook and bulb will become loose

Elvis is right except don't forget to first pull out the greasy white (or yellowed) connector where the wires lead up to the bulb terminals. THEN remove the rubber sleeve starting with the outer edges and then GENTLY tug the center part of the rubber sleeve and it should slip off the base of the bulb revealing the three prongs and the clip holding the bulb in place. Take note of the orientation of the tabs on the new bulb and the notches in the socket as they must align so that the bulb will not wiggle when the clip is back on.

Do not get any fingerprint oil or grease on the bulb's glass or it will blister and explode. Wipe contaminants off with a cloth a bit of rubbing alcohol.

If both the headlight and the side marker light are out on the driver's side of my 2008 scion xd is it possible that there is an electrical problem?

Did you change it out? Sometimes manufacturers set the turn signals in the dash to flash faster or maybe not at all to indicate a blown bulb and to change it.

Dimm headlights

Check your bulb socket, also could be a bad ground on that side.

Need to change low beam light on 2005 scion tc tried to remove headlight but it would not come out is there a hidden screw somewhere how do i remove the bulb from it's housing

Don't remove headlight. Look at the back of the headlight. and try to see a clip which will be holding the lampholder which holds the bulb. When you find this it will become possible but needing dexterity

I need to change my headlight bulb in my scion tc. how do i do that?

Look inside the engine compartment - follow the wires to the back of the headlight. Remove the lock ring around the harness (just like a jar lid - twist it to the left an eighth turn) and coax the bulb out. It is held in by a rubber sealing ring. Installation is just the reverse.

I can't find directions on line to change the driver's side headlight out of the headlight assembly. I took the assembly out of the car, not a simple task, you have to remove the bumper, but I can't figure...

If I can remember, there should be two small screws on the bottom left of the headlight. This is the spring load. remove the screws and also remove the two small screws on the upper right. this will help remove the adjusting screw. the installation is in reverse.

HEADLIGHT REPLACEMENT

needed: flathead screwdriver. 10mm socket and wrench, and about 15minutes

You remove the three clips on the grill with a flathead screwdriver. then just pull straight up on the grill to remove. This will expose the bolts for removal of your front bumper. there are also screws on either side of the wheelwell where the bumper meets the fender....all of these are 10mm... then pull out one side of the bumper and the whole thing will come off easily. Also if you have the factory foglights you will need to remove the harnesses from the lights before removing the bumper.....Once the bumper is off the 4 bolts for the headlight are right there for you to see....one under the grillside one one the fender side and 2 on top all of which are 10mm as well....once the headlight is out remove the wiring harnesses and reinstall the new light in exctly the same way but reversed....hope this helps
