Whineing sound on R-hand side of my Malibu (wheel bearing i guess

2000 model malibu. does the front wheel bearings change the same way that you change all cars wheel bearings?
You do not need to use a "press" to press the bearing in or out?
Is this correct?
Thanks for your reply.

It all depends on which type of bearings are fitted to the front hubs if there are 2 taper bearings fitted I:E one at either side of the hub then you can get away with knocking them out with a copper dollt. If it is one continuous bearing running through the hub then it is easer to press it out rather than trying to knock it out

A friend has a 2000 chevy malibu. when driving at

Well, that depends, do you have front-wheel drive or rear wheel drive? With front wheel drive, you most likely have a CV joint problem on the drive axle. The best way to find out how to do ANY repair to any make or model car is to buy (or borrow) a chilton or hanes manual from an auto parts store (or library). They are not very expensive and save you tons of money, by helping you fix the most common, and many uncommon problems, step-by-step.
