I have a 99 Dodge Grand Caravan SE Sport, the transmission is not goin into drive. And when it try to it sounds like a chain draggin in the transmission. Reverse works, and i check the fluid the clean with no metal shavings. On the side of the transmission where it has a plate that can be removed it sounds like a chain scrapping the plate, plus u can feel it doin it. What can be the problem?

you need to put a ratchet ******** the front of the engine and remove the dog bone engine mount this will allow the engine to be pulled forward with strap and you can reach behind and remove the plugs or you can get them from underneath the van hand tightened with a spark plug socket and wrench if you overtighten they will break

I have a ford explorer model 2000 engine keeps cutting out

1, Disconnect the able from negative terminal of the battery.
2. Pry the courtesy light from the door trim and disconnect the wire connector..
3. Remove all door trim panel retaining screws and door pull armrest assemblies.
4. Remove the door switch panel and the control switch panel and the control switch assembly.
5. On models with memory seats/mirrors, use small-flat bladed pry tool to remove and disconnect the wire.
6. Grasp the trim panel lift up and pull out to detach it from the door. Disconnect the inner door handle lock rod from the handle. Unplug any electrical connectors remaining and remove the door panel.
7. To install, connect the wire harness connectors and place the panel in position in the door. Press the trim panel down into place until the hooks are seated.
8. Install the armrest/door pulls, the courtesy light and the window switch'
9. Reconnect the battery


Also. You will need star pattern drivers to remove the window and motor from your door. If you have all the equipment it should only take you 1 hour.

I need a little mor info. But the reason for the being stuck in 2nd gear is because when something goes wrong with the tranny. it goes into "LIMP" mode wich keeps the trans. from shifting out of 2nd when you are going forward. It does sound like your trans. is gone out though.
