Possibly a faulty idle air control motor. Can you slightly push on the accelerator pedal when cold and it be easier to start? Also, could be carbon build-up in the throttle plate.
There maybe a leak in the fuel line and it is not getting enough pressure any gas (fuel) smells at rear should be check as soon as found. check fuel lines on top of tank, they the first point to split. also at any joint that is metal in the fule line.

you can not put a regular 3800 intake in place of the 3800 super charged engine, the compression ratio is lower than the regular 3800 engine.......!
SOURCE: Speed) when i push the gas pedal it wont take off fast.
check the EGR valve and the vacuum lines and for any GM parts try Schram auto and truck parts 1-800-292-1032

your key has a resistor built in (some call it a chip but it is nothing but a resistor) there are only about 10 different ohmages . On my 95 riviera I still had the key but it was worn. I went to radio shack, measured the resistance of the keys 'chip' and bought a couple of resistors to match the total needed, soldered them in line and bypassed the key "reader". No more problem. Maybe you have the same trouble. One "Pro" said ... "It's not a matter of 'if', but 'when' all GM products in that age group will fail in the ignition security and need attention.

if your supercharger sounds like tumbling rocks, it is the plastic coupler between the nose cone and the charger body; take off your serpentine belt; chances are the pulley has some play in it but it turns freely; the replacement coupler is a cheap fix; what gets a lil pricey is the labor to replace it... the buick has an alternator bracket that has to come off before you can take the nose off of the supercharger... dont forget to drain the oil from the nose cone with a spray bottle nozzle

Will this cause the car to hesitate when running.
both can cause this. low fuel pressure ( air getting in the line from a cracked fuel line weak pressure switch) clogged up air vain in the inlet could be lower air line from top of engine feed. idler blocked ( ruff idling or slow uptake in speed) manifold air leak or breather lines these go to the valve controls egr and fuel pressure regulator. you can check most of these with carb cleaner spray around the engine, any change in engine speed or stalling then there is a fault there.
Check the hose going to the evap cannister to see if it is off or rotted out. The canister is by the tank usually by the rear fender and is a black plastic box that collects vapors when you fill your tank.
I might add that also runs on vacuum which will affect the engine. Also check the fill pipe for rot and make sure the cap is on tight. A loose cap or one that is not sealing properly will set off a check engine light also. When you put the cap on make sure you "click" it several times.
