Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good.
If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs, gasoline engine. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse. Only crank the starter motor a few seconds at a time, let it cool off a little.

Car wont crank unless pop-started.

I would have that starter tested. It could be intermittently engaging and disengaging. This can happen to the starter drive. I`m not sure why it cuts out after you jump start it,since the alternator takes over after cranking the engine. Unless the starter drive is sticking. My other thoughts are on a fuel pump problem.Or fuel problem period such as an obstruction of gas getting to the engine. Fuel filter maybe or fuel pump relay!

2007 Ford 500 Sedan showing code po191. For a couple weeks my car keeps jerking and acting like it is going to stop running, especially when I turn the a/c on. It cut off on me once and I cranked it f

See another mechanic,P0191 means fuel pressure rail circuit./performance. once this code appears there is no use in taking a fuel pressure reading, the purpose for the fuel rail sensor is for the fuel pump performance,it adjust voltage to the fuel pump as vehicle load increase it commands the ECM to give more voltage to the fuel pump, you must satisfy the fuel pressure rail sensor first,or you will do nothing but stall out.

My '93 F250 5.8 l Automatic was turning over slowly when cranking to start. Replaced battery no change; Then after sitting for 2 mo. turning key to start produced only a click and dead gauges (battery...

The battery to starter connection has power.the battery is ok.but there are many other possibilities related to battery and its other connections, the spark plugs, the fuel pump, the fuel itself, the sensors(o2 sensor, maf sensor)the valve(IAC valve, egr valve). Most probably the spark plug, the coil pack and crank shaft sensor. This 3 are not getting power to get the car start.

There are some possibilities which you will have to check in this case:--

1) First of all check the power and voltage to the battery. With meter it will show exact 12 volt if the battery is charged. If the voltage is less get the battery charged at local auto repair shop. If the battery is internally drained and not getting charged then its time to replace the battery.

2) When you crank the car do you see spark coming at the spark plug? If no then its time to check the spark plugs and coil pack. If the spark plugs are not worn out and looks new then its time to check coil pack. The spark plug gets power to spark from coil pack.

3) The other thing to check in this case is the starter solenoid of the car. If the battery is charged and you start the car then it gives power to the starter to start the car. But if starter is faulty or not connected properly then car will not start.

4) The other thing to check in this case is fuel in the car. If there is fuel in the car then check the blockages in the fuel pump if the fuel pump looks proper then check the fuel filter above the fuel pump.

5) If all the above possibilities mentioned above checked out OK/perfect then it's a electrical issue and the wiring's in the car needs to be checked. The car gets power from the battery to get started. so the wires from battery needs to be checked one by one.

Changed starter and alternator and still wont start on 1988 grand am

There are few things that you will have to check. 1) Is the battery properly charged. 2) Are you getting spark at the spark plugs, when you crank the car to start. 3) Is there proper fuel in the car. ---------------- If the battery is not charged properly the car will not start.Check the voltage of the battery .It should be exact 12volt. If there is no spark coming when you crank the engine then its the problem of either the spark plugs or the coil pack.the spark plugs gets power to spark from coil packs. Also check the fuel pump and fuel filter. If the fuel pump and fuel filter are worn out then it will not supply the fuel properly to the engine and this results in no-start problem. If all battery, fuel pump and spark plugs checked out OK then its time to check the wiring connections between the battery to starter and battery to alternator. This will help. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

'90 lexus es250 wont start..

Get it diagnosed correctly. This is why we have 20,000 dollars of diagnostic equipment. If we were to guess I would of suggested the fuel pump.

This defineatly was not an alternator issue or a starter issue or battery by what your symptoms were.

You could have a failed computer or crank sensor or ignition module. Only testing will tell you what is not at fault and what is.
