Cooling fans The coolant fans would not shut off when u turned of the van and they would stay on until the battery cable was disconected.I have changed the thermostat and sensor. Finally all of a sudden now the fans dont work at all.Why Radiator fan runs continuosly when engine turned off- ran for two hours; engine not that hot. Is this a relay prob & is it the one behind the grill? Anyone got a rating on it? Really funky to disconnect the battery cable to shut it off...

Yes, if the sensor didn't fix it, it is probably a relay problem. Chrysler has a habit (my truck especially) of using underrated relays that fuse in the closed position.
Power from the battery goes to the relay directly and that's the only place that the circuit would be opened to turn off the fans.

How long do the cooling fans stay on after car is shut down

The coolant fan temperature sensor detects the coolant is still hot, and keeps the fans on. And remains on until engine cools down. Check the coolant when cold for proper coolant level. If fans stay on all the time, check the coolant fan relay. Good-Day! . It will happen more in warm weather than in the cooler months.

1999 dodge caravan gauges are all mest up

Could be different problems.
The cluster issue could be a problem in the printed circuit board inside the cluster.
The cooling fan problem could be low coolant, a blown fuse, a faulty temp sensor, fan motor, or relay.

Cannot get cooling fans to turn on for radiator???

The cooling fans won't run until either the engine coolant temperature reaches about 218 degrees or the air conditioner/defroster are on. Once the engine reaches appx 218 degrees the fan will come on and run until the coolant temperature drops a few degrees and will then turn back off. If either the a/c or defrost are turned on then the cooling fan will begin to run to remove the heat from the a/c system and should stay on until either is turned off. If the engine is overheating in slow or stop and go traffic then the fan may not be working at all due to a bad fan motor or blown fuse.

Does the fan always run

Cooling fans only run when the temp,of the coolant get to about 215 to 218 degrees, and shut them selves off, when the engine cools down,if they do not cut off,the engine is not cooling down, now,if the ac is on,the cooling fans will stay on until the ac is shut off.

Cooling fan stays on when car is off. Took off battery cables to stop it. Is it suppose to run after cars off until engines cool?? Thanks, Chloe

It would be normal for the cooling fans to run after you shut the car off because the power to the fans is turned on and off by a thermostat and not the key. Don't worry about it unless it runs for more than 15-20 minutes when you shut the car off. It may run that long in summer if the car is hot but less in the winter. Hope this helps.

1999 chrysler voyager 2.5 td cooling fans

if i disconect temp sensor fans come on cool engine but then no temp gauge

That's what I'd expect after unplugging.
This is sounding like a bad coolant temp sensor. Test it or replace it before you do anything else. Read this post on how to test an engine coolant temperature sensor
