I have a 2001 Chrysler 300m and it sometimes won't start, when it doesn't start it also has absolutely no power. I popped the trunk to grab my cables and slammed it, the alarm reset and chirped and the car has power again. Seem to be like a short and complete power loss at times. Now a new development, it seems to once in a while have these hiccups of power outage even while driving, feels like shift into neutral, everything blinks off power loss, gauges go dead. Any suggestions.

It sounds like u have a bad ground connection somewhere.I woud start with the battery and check all your wiring connections it could just be a loose connection somewhere.

SOURCE: 1995 Chrysler Cirrus Lxi--no buS on odometer and gauges don't work

Check all connections on the back of the guage cluster. The red one usually causes the no bus, meaning there has been a momentary loss of connection. This is a common problem on this model because the connection pins will wallow out the holes where they pass through the circuit board.

SOURCE: 2000 chrysler concorde will not get out of gear.

Change the shift cable (cable from shifter to transmission) Also spray some WD40 on the shift linkage on the trans and work it back and forth to loosen it up before you put the new cable on. Good luck

you are going to have to replace the sending unit for the gas gauge, it is located in the fuel tank.

Does a 2001 Chrysler 300M have a fusible link?

Your vehicle has two boxes of fusible links, but none of them magically repair if you disconnect the battery.

Check for DTC trouble codes.
Check the grounds on the negative battery to the body work.
You probably need an auto-electrician.

well, the power steering will freeze when the motor is not running. the mechanic may not find what seems to be the problem specially when no warning lights are coming. you can try replacing the fuel cervo and this will surely help. not everyone knows about this.
