usually a surefire way to check the problem is first check the fuel pump relay.when you turn the key you should hear the relay click(they are located underneath the center console on the passengerside) if the relays are good, then check the fuel shutoff switch to see if it was triggered(this is located on the passenger side in the rear wheel housing, there is a little pull off panel and it's marked.press the reset button on top if it's tripped. If you still have a problem the othere things to check are the firing of the plugs if there is fire your fuel pump is bad,if not you eithere have a bad coil pack or a timing belt issue
SOURCE: "check engine light flashing"
The flashing check engine light is typical of a misfire issue. There are two things I would do to start with.
1. Take the vehicle to an auto parts store like Autozone and have them hook up their scan tool so that they can retrieve stored trouble codes. Even if the check engine light is not on, they should be able to retrieve recently stored codes.
2. Do a complete tune up. New plugs, new plug wires, new air filter, new fuel filter if it has not been done recently.
If the parts store pulls the codes and they cannot tell you what they mean, post them up here and I will see what I can dig up for you.
SOURCE: Check Engine light on AGAIN!
I have an '01 Sable that posted a Check Engine light and the problem turned out to be a Mass Airflow Sensor.
CHECK THE COMPRESION ON THE CLY IF NO COMPRESION SUGGESTED TO REPLACE THE CLY HEAD
SOURCE: i changed spark plugs and car still misfires and
i bet your spark plug wires are bad. Arching is occuring (when the spark doesnt get to the plug) Probably because of old cracked wires
