Passenger side seat has a switch built into it that says someone is setting there. may be faulty . or something under the seat pushing up against it. simple fix snap the seatbelt on the passenger side. switch will have a wire connection under the seat, replace switch if need be. brake light blinking this could be simple as the emergency brake isn't fully released or it may be low on brake fluid. also some cars tell if a bulb is blown

SOURCE: Brake lights

Check your emergency flasher switch... if it located on the column it could have been "hit" and is inbetween the on and off location, this will cause the turn signals and break lights to malfunction

SOURCE: My dash lights are out, my shifter lights are out,

sounds like a fuse - - even if the fuse looks new - it can break internally - so - get a test light and just for fun - even replace the fuses - and keep the old ones as extras - as for the dash lights - it is usually a fuse as you sound like you know - still- i would again change the fuses and also - - take down the vin number and ask the local dealer if there have been any recalls or service bulletins

Most likely a fuse is bad, get out your owners manual and see which one powers the lights. Buy a good test light and it will help you the rest of your mechanic career. Then you can test the fuses without pulling them out to look at them, and test them electrically. first to confirm they are indeed getting power and then that they are good.

When i bought my car the previous owner said ther was a problem with the brake lights, he had changed the bulbs and checked the fuse(which i cannot find), but still no brake lights.

Your lower brake lites are wired through the turn signal switch. You can see fuse in diagram, underhood fuse box. Your turn and brake use the same bulb filament at the lower rear, just not at the same time. I test for voltage and ground, use a testlight.

Brake light dodge neon 2002

Check the brake fuse in your dash's fusebox. Since the turns work, you know the bulbs are good, unless your Neon has separate brake lights. If the fuse is good, bulbs are good, then check for power at the brake light switch on the upper portion of the brake pedal. Should have 12 volts there all the time. Use a testlight or voltmeter to check. Good luck.

Brake light on dash came on

If the brake light came on it typically is calling out low fluid or the E-brake is on. Check your fluid level and replace with proper fluid. The float may be stuck too causing the light to come on. Also be certain E-brake is fully released.

I hope this may have assited you,
Tom
