The right engine mount has failed and it will have to be replaced. This is a job for a shop, the engine must be lifted from the chassis to access the mount.
It's a 2 day job so make arrangements for a replacement car.
Which engine mount would you think it is? Thanks
Which engine mount would you think it is? Is there one at the top and bottom? Thanks
The top one, it's only it on the right side .
Changed this and the problem is still there? Any more sergestions?
Check the transmission joints. BTW i've assumed that the noise comes from outside the engine, if it's the engine itself the one that knocks then you have a problem with the ECM, it doesn't trigger the ignition correctly.

HI,IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THE TORSION DIFFERENTIAL ON THE GEARBOX IS CAUSING THIS,PLEASE TRY THIS,DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO A OPEN AREA,YOU MUST PUT IT IN 2ND GEAR AND DRIVE IN A CIRCLE ONE WAY ABOUT 10-15 TIMES,AND THE SAME THING CHANGING DIRECTION,THE REASON I SAY THIS IS TO LOOSEN UP THE TORSION GEARS,PLEASE LET ME KNOW,ANDY.

Yes!
Same problem with my car, won't shift especially when cold. I was told that if the knock sensor is sending a false signal to the computer that the engine is pinging then it will not allow the transmission to shift until the pinging stops. Other people have had this problem too, check out this link, especially the last entry:

Car is in limp in mode unless you have the tools to work on automatic transmission you will need to take it to a transmission shop. Of course you can check oil level but I suspect you have other issues.

Well, something is broken. I suggest that you get it on a lift, and listen with a Stethoscope and be sure the noise is in the tranny. There is not usually anything good that comes from a noise like you describe. A broken tooth on a gear damages the mating gear and those parts add up fast.
