I can drive my durango and it runs fine, I shut it off and sometimes it wont start again. It will turn over but it will not fire. If I wait 15 minutes it will start. It doesnt do it regularly so it is hard to diagnose. What could be wrong?
Everyone check your catalitic converter, some of these problems sound like what i was going through and it was my converter stopped up!
I had this exact problem with a dodge van. It turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor. I also had this issue with my 7.3 diesel it was the camshaft position sensor. I changed the fuel pump in my 01 Durango and that wasn't the issue. But if you go that route amazon has a Bosch for $150. Cheapest I have found. But as I said it was not the fuel pump. Did have bad fuel pump in dodge van but it would run bad under 1/2 tank. Keep it full problem went away. Something to consider.
