SOURCE: Problem with 2005 Jaguar XJ8L

Hi Tracy.
Yes its a new one to me too !
I presume its an automatic model ?
Possibly the gear selection inhibitor switch is at fault, due to water ingress ?
Have you tried starting in neutral ?
Do you hear any clicking from the engine starter at all, when you turn the key ?
If you do, then suspect the starter motor at fault.
I see you posted this on Dec the 6th, so expect you have located the problem by now, if not hope I have been of some help.
Best Wishes !
John.

SOURCE: Battery needs jump start if car is not driven for 3 days.

u either have a shorted cell in the battery or the system has a current draw like a glove box light being left on, try disconnecting the battery the next time you leave it, if it starts ok then u have a current draw and need to find the source of that draw.

SOURCE: P0420 Error code, I had the sparks plugs replaced in dec...now one is misfiring again.

i dont know if this 402 code is a miss code on a jag but usually miss codes are p0300 codes. if you are hearing a ticking and you own a spray bottle, an old mechanics trick is to mist water on the plug wires while the engine is running preferrably in the dark.

2006 pt cruiser oil leak three small drops all with in a foot and a half of each other

When the head was removed to replace the head gasket, likely oil was 'spilled' down the sides of the engine block. If it wasn't completely cleaned, it may have accumulated on the frame cross member or other components below the engine. I would clean up the drops on the floor and watch for additional evidence for a couple of days. If they keep appearing, take your car to the shop that did the work and have them check it out for you.

Honda accord 1996 v6 2.7 liter, rpm gage jump up and down

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
