It is starting to get above the 200 degree mark and is making me nervous. what tempeture is perfect for this vehicle?

My 2002 gmc safari minivan has 146000 trouble free miles on it. in the last couple of days i have noticed the temperature gauge hovering around the 200 degree mark. today on a fairly long trip 100 miles it started to creep a little higher, i am really getting nervous with the weather getting warmer out. i don't want to overheat her. thanks in advance.wayne

Make sure front of rad is clean between condenser which is mounted in front of radiator. Check fan clutch and it also could be a stuck thermostat.

Your thermostat may be stuck in the open position. The original thermostat is a 195 degree. Your engine should be warm enough to blow heat in 5 minutes of idling or driving.

Yesterday our 2002 safari started cold and within 2 miles the tempature went to 250 degrees. We stopped and let it cool for 2 hours, again the temp went up within a mile. I replaced the thermostat but it...

Could be one of two things, maybe both, either the water pump isn't doing it's job right, or the radiator is clogged. In either case, it should be replaced.

I have a 2002 buick rendevous and my temperature gauge goes up to the middle line when i am driving is that okay im thinking it should be down by the c

The middle or slightly below the middle mark is where the needle should be when the engine is up to operating temperature. The middle mark is about 200-220 degrees which is absolutely perfect for GM.

Como cambiar distribuidor gmc safari 2001

Remove the distributor cap. Mark the location where the rotor is pointing by making a scratch mark on the distributor housing. Remove the distributor adjusting bolt and bracket. Remove the distributor. Replace with the new distributor by placing the rotor on the shaft and turning the shaft until the rotor aligns with the same place as the mark on the old one. Install the bolt and tighten. Start engine. If your engine does not run, remove the bolt and distributor and turn it 180 degrees and replace.

Heater not working gmc safari minivan

Do you mean there is no heat coming from the vents? or do you mean there is no blower motor operation? or do you mean the temperature control won't change from cold to hot?

How do i stop my 2002 GMC Safari from swaying

If this excessive swaying is due to worn suspension then those worn parts will be tie-rods, shock struts, anti roll bars and the rubber bushings holding the various parts of the suspension in place. General suspension overhaul would be required.
Now if its a normal feature of the vehicle you can improve the handling by fitting harder anti roll bars(sway bars), stiffer shocks, custom tie rods, better quality rubber bushes (polyurethane) and by lowering the suspension with shorter stiffer springs.
I suggest searching for an owners club for your vehicle where you should find some people who are doing the same thing and get advice from those who have been there before - --- You can ruin a cars handling and make it quite dangerous by changing things around, I suggest you search for suspension modification and do a quick 101 of the do's and dont's of suspension modification before you start swapping parts.

How to check transmission fluid on a 02 gmc safari

You need to warm up the engine, pull out the dipstick, wipe it off and reinsert. Pull it out once again and look to make sure the fluid level is sitting between the marked areas on the dipstick.
