Probably stuck linkage on either the inside or outside door handle. Try spraying the latch mechanism on the end of the of the door with some WD40 and see if it will operate properly. If not, you'll probably have to pull of the door's inside panel and inspect/lubricate the linkage to both the outside and inside door handles.

SOURCE: front driver door wont close on 97 blazer

Make sure the latch hasn't already dropped into the locked positon. If it has pull on the door handle and raise up the latch.

Drivers door pin and bushings need replaced again.I am looking for after market repair kit not the Dorman kit that was rpreviously installed .

Chevy blazers are ******* bushings. You can get bushings at any autoparts store. The key to keepinng them in good shape is lubrication.

The driver side door on my 2002 chevy blazer wont close.how do i fix it?

Door pins are a common failure on that series of Blazer/S10's. Also, another point of contention that the door faces is a sticky latch. Basically, the door latch re-latches itself and when you shut the door into the catch, it slams into it and bounces off. An easy fix is a 3 part cocktail of brake parts cleaner. Open and shut the latch with a screw driver acting as the catch and your interior door handle a few times. P'Blaster, open and shut the door a few times with the screwdriver acting as the catch. Finally, a good shot of white lithium grease. Open and shut the door with a screwdriver as the catch several times. Once you feel it is un-stuck, actually close and open the door several times. If you notice the door rising every time it catches, you MUST replace the door pins (cheap fix). If the door still has issues, replace the door latch (and since you're in there, do some PM and replace the actuator as well).

I have owned a 1994 and a now a 2001 chevy blazer and on both suv's the drivers door spring and i think its called a hinge pin on the interior part of the door where the latch connects to the door...

Yes it is very common, the driver side door is the one most used and the factory parts cannot handle it. I have had many break on me if not seperate completely from the door. The best thing to do is go to your local parts store and get a Dorman replacement for them.
Good Luck!

98 Chev Blazer. power lock problem. driver's door would not unlock doors, now it will not lock doors. passenger side works fine

you may just have a bad connection under the lock button under switch panel on your drivers door. check electrical plug in at door lock switch by removing that panel from driver door.it may be that you have to replace that door lock switch .thers only one fuse for door locks and if pass side works, it's not blown.

Driver door needs to be align. Can I do it myself?

If the door wont line up correctly, is most likely due to bad hinge pins. Open door try to raise up on outside of door near bottom. If it has play hinge pins need to be replaced.

4 door 2001 chevy blazer front power locks will not work.

SOUND LIKE THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK SWITCH IS STUCK IN THE UNLOCK POSITION. SINCE THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK SWITCH OVER-RIDES THE PASSENGER DOOR, I WOULD REPLACE THE SWITCH WITH A NEW ONE. HOPE THIS SOLVES THE PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK. KEEP US POSTED, WE ARE ANXIOUS TO KNOW.
