it will be in fuse block at the drivers side door use a test light to test the fuses by touching the two metal tips that are exposed, have the ignition key in run position if both sides light up the fuse is good not all fuses will light up. fuse #10 red 10 amp most likely, test them all to be sure
depending on country, most golf DO NOT have 2 rear foglights, this is not to confuse the driver behind thinking they are your brake lights, the one that works is fitted/wired to the offside.it still has a bulb holder though........the fronts have a fuse for both(when fitted)
Send me an email address and I will forward alond an image for the fuse block descriptions in a 1998 VW Beetle. Likely identical to the 2000 VW Beetle. Section 3.2 of your Owner's Manual also contains a pictoral representation of the fuse block, including descriptions for each fuse.
to turn on the fog lights, its the same switch that you use to turn on your head lights. Turn the dial to the right to turn on your head lights and then pull it towards you. thats how you turn your fog lights on
it is the bulb that has blown, the bulb is in the control knod nearest the passenger, pull off the dial and you will see the bulb,it is a little pig to get to but you will reach it with long nosed pliers, this buld does all the dials......good luck ....but it is difficult to get too the bulb.....
I have a 2001 Beetle and changing many of the bulbs are a *****. I have found a very good mechanic who changes most of my exterior lights as some such as the fog lights require it to be lifted up and I'm not comforatble crawling under it when off the ground. I would call around to VW mechanics and see what they would chrage, That's actually how I found my mechanic, head lamps. If you buy the lamps you can also some body shops willing to install them for much leass than a dealership. Hope this helps.
