Two things: #1 someone has overfilled it by mistake thinking they were putting oil in the engine. Yes I have seen this. #2 The transmission cooler in the radiator could be leaking antifreeze into the transmission through the cooling line raising the fluid level. I would look for milk shake foam on the dip stick and make sure you check trans in park and not neutral.
It goes in the transmission dip stick tube. You may need a small funnel to fit the opening on the tube. Make sure the engine and transmission are warm and the engine is running when you check the fluid. Wait a minute after adding the fluid to check it so it can all drain down the tube or it will cause false readings.
How did u add the transmission fluid? Did you just fill it to the marking on the stick? If you did, that's wrong.
Engine has to be at operating temperature, then filled to the hot marking. The transmission shift has to be moved through all gears including reverse, at least twice. Then the vehicle should be taken for a ten minute drive..do u have any DTC codes?
If you overfill a transmission, it can have the effects you have... try removing some through the fill tube using a suitable piece of clear plastic tubing...cheers.
the only places it can leak are the front and rear seals,The dip stick tube has an Oring or rubber boot on it, the pan gasket, And the over flow /breather tube on top of the transmission. If it's coming from the top then it is over filled. Most bad /excessive leaks come from the dip stick tube, damaged the Oring or forgot the rubber boot.
Add transmission fluid down the transmission dip stick tube. Check on the fluid level whilst the engine is running at idle and the car is in park. Add extra fluid 500ml at time until it is back to the correct level. Having to top up the fluid frequently indicates a leak: prop shaft seal, impeller seal, speedo cable junction or the cooling pipe unions.
check the fluid levels in the transmission fluid level dip stick in idle also wipe the stick and recheck it the dipstick is located on the left rear firewall usually a red locking tab .i am re-posting this as im not sure my last post went through
depending on the type of transmission, I've found leaks mainly at the breather vent, rear seal, and front seals, also check the dip stick tube where it connects to the transmission
Your dip stick tube is your fill tube for your transmission . Make sure your transmission oil is at opperating temp before servicing some instructions are written on the dip stick , Use a small funnel , Add a little at a time (cup). Use the proper fluid , check regularly
Transmission fluid leadage at cooler lines.
