Try number 13. center of fuse block labeled deck lid. To fix the problem you will need a pull down switch. The always go bad from people slamming the trunk shut. See you gm dealer for this part.
The switch is broke, This means it is not working. If you had a alternator that was not working "for EXAMPLE" are you telling me that you can look at it by sight and honestly say , it looks fine to me so it must be working? I have sold many of these switches for this problem and it fixed them. Just replace it. They go bad internally. You sound like this 85 year old man I knew and he told me that a switch would not fix his car. He left me his 93 seville and I put this switch on it. It fixed it and he has had no problems since. I have a 89 seville and I have replaced mine a few years ago. It's good to know that you are the only person that has ever closed your trunk , but many of us find that hard to believe!

Where is the fuse located?
I do not see any switch that is broken. The mechanism that is there looks to all be fine.
The trunk lid has not been slammed shut during the ten years that I have owned the vehicle to break a switch.
