Service engine light

I have a saturn sc2 (2002)and the service engine soon light came on, took it to mechanic and it showed codes p0133, p0326, p1599, and p1601.Mechanic tested all related components and they tested good. So he reset system. two days later the service light "wrench" and security light came on, I turned the car off, and they went out. The next day the service engine soon light came back on...the car has recently had a motor from a newer model saturn put in it, could this be part of the problem??

Need a different mechanic

They never tested anything,
if you got codes

Testimonial: "They wre the ones who got the codes. Quite sure they tested the related components, the car runs and drives fine. Why would they not test anything if their work is guaranteed and I can bring it back to be re tested for free (unless they have a lot of time to waste) I'm just looking for clues as to what it might be"

Google the codes Type: OBD PO 133 etc If you had codes them there was not only component testing to do but why wasn't the cause of those codes found & resolved They did nothing to resolve why Was the car road tested & did you go along for the ride Have to do that

SOURCE: P0401. P0133, P1131- emmision test

Based on what the tech manuals say I would change the DPFE sensor for the EGR Valve, careful not to tear the special silicone rubber hoses that go to it from the exhaust, as a Ford dealer tech I saw these codes allot, and the DPFE sensor was almost always the issue or the hoses going to it.

SOURCE: turn the key and nothing happens,no crank,no sound,no start

It seems that you have a loose wire, bad connector or perhaps the main computer itself that is causing a problem If the shop is not seeing any codes, or codes come and go, likely I'm right...but someone is going to have to actually do some intensive testing to find the real cause. You can likely get another computer from a local scrapyard far cheaper than what the dealer will charge you...as far as wiring, you need a good accurate schematic a good volt/ohmeter and lots of time to trace wiring. When checking connectors test the pin, then probe the wire going into the pin...often the problem is where a wire meets the backside of the pin, either corroding or breaking..This also applies to any modules such as the security system...what you see on the dash does not always tell you that connection to components is good. This is not a "fix, but rather, a direction to go in. (exactly what I"d need to do if I was there)
Right now, everything is suspect including fuel system, till you rule it out!!!

I got error code p1599

Before you replace the sensor, you should check the voltage circuit for the heater. The sensor may be fine and not getting voltage to the heater inside.
The code 1599 just means the engine has stalled at some point. It does not tell you why or how.
I doubt the two codes are related.

Hi, I took my 02 saturn to see why it was idling rough and misfiring, they told me I had a code of p1599. can you tell me what I need to buy to fix this problem? my ca has never stalled.

p1599 refers to TPS (throttle position sensor) Stop by a local parts store (Advance, Autozone, etc) and have them do a free fault scan for you.

My car wont start my mechanic put it on machine the codes were P0133 P0341 P1599 P1620 he said i need a computer

ok now for starters, we will go with the most probable:P0341 crank position sensor. chances are it needs to be replaced. 2nd your check engine light has probably been on for a while right?! the P0133 is an o2 sensor code and would probably be good maintenance(but get it to run first. 3rd P1599 refers to it stalling out which if it died while running would most likely trigger this. and last but not least either your coolant level switch is faulty or you really do have low coolant. let me know.

Service Engine soon light Code P0133

I just came from an Autozone, and then spoke with 2 Hyundai dealership service departments and they all three stated the P0113 code is the Intake Air Temperature sensor (IAT, also referred to as the Mass Air Pressure - MAP - sensor) on the engine, not an O2 sensor found in the exhaust system.

In a Saturn SL2 1998, I have the check engine soon light on. The codes readings show P0133 and P0422.

P0133 is an oxygen sensor "response too slow" code (meaning it's not getting up to temperature quickly enough, and the computer is assuming damage to its heating element). P0422 is a catalytic converter problem indication (cat is below peak efficiency). It's assuming you have a failure with the primary O2 sensor and that the cat is also bad. Change your O2 sensor first, have the codes cleared, and see if the cat code comes back or if the O2 sensor change fixes both issues.
