Question about 1989 GMC S-15 Jimmy

89 s15 jimmy starting troubles

I have an 89 s15 gmc jimmy 4.3l v6 2 barrel tbi with starting troubles it floods real easy and seems to be getting to much fuel at startup,so much so ive seen puddling ont the throttle plates both injector spray a heavy fuel stream if the gas peddle is not to the floor(not a fine mist like ive seen on most fi but im new to this viechle so im not sure if thats normal) when it does start it runs fine and will stay running any help is appreciated thx

Fuel pump circuit (low voltage)
Try replacing the fuel pump relay or testing it if you have the manual.

SOURCE: fuel mileage and injector problem

You should probably get the catalitc conveter checked.If you are'nt getting rid of exhaust then you are wasting fuel by blowing it out the tailpipe.

I have a 1992 gmc jimmy s15....it will turn over and getting fuel and getting fire but will not crank. whats the problem? I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel relay, injectors,pressure regulator, dist.cap....
did you replace spark wire 1 by one,? if not bingo, you layed them down wrong.... (did car just die, by self or after a tune up?)
4.3L V6?

please stop throwing parts, you rich>? (60k tune up excepted always)
the EFI engines will not put out fuel if spark is dead.
what does getting fuel mean?
1: injectors squirt?
2: the cracked open rail plug dribbles?
what?
3;spark plug tips wet,
4: black smoke out tail. what/?
it's a no start, cranks perfect car, you keep saying no crank.
A car that can not crank and can never be started unless push started,
with a M/T STICK gear box.
ANSWER: ?
seems to me its flooding. , no>? soaking wet spark plug tips?
when EFI , floods a car , WOT cranking clears the flood.
Wide open throttle, its in you operator guide, RTM.
so if flooding, what i do us cut power to the fuel pump
the crank it dry. (black smoke out the tail, and then sputters an runs and stalls)
then, i try only test fuel. that is right,, no fuel pump power.
and make sure my engines sounds perfect with just test fuel.
if that is all true runs on test fuel,
then the problem is FUELING ONLY>
all in the span of 10mins work.

this is a very old car is this a TBI car, a very old single injector
engines or MPI , multipoint injection.

read the wiki, see all those engines.
and EFI
which one do you have.

89 GMC S15 Jimmy getting fuel to the throttle body but not through it
The pick up coil and module need to be replaced in the distributor.This is where your injectors get there pulse.

I have an 1987 gmc jimmy s15 with a tbi 2.8 v6 with about 201000 miles on it.I've been haveing a few issues with a bad miss and revs at idle and now is blowing black smoke. I've changed the plugs...
Bad miss & erratic idle can be the T.P.S. had the same problem on an 89 S10 & 91 Sonoma. As for black smoke sounds like oil in cylinders. If the truck has REALLY bad blow by & REALLY worn P.C.V. Valve that can make it smoke too. If not then probably the piston rings with that many miles.

I have a 89 gmc jimmy s15 everything works on the except the spee
if it is cable driven, then unplug it at the trans an spin the inside of the cable with a drill at slow speed and see if the speed moves, if not then change the cable.

do you hear the converter rattling?? and you can start the truck and feel the end of the exhaust and see if it feels like it is blowing the exhaust out
