My 2001 S500 electronic key does not control my ability to lock or unlock my doors. I cannot get into the trunk to get at my owner's manual. How can I open the trunk?
Im not to familiar with your vehicle but you cant get to the trunk from the back seat? Or are the doors locked to? Whatever way you do it, it sounds expensive. Good luck
There should be a manual key hole somewhere in case of a power loss.

Try the fuse first. If you have done this than the problem could be in the actuator on the trunk latch. Poss loose/bad wire or faulty unit? I hope this helps!

Check Battery in car(make sure is not weak or dying), check battery in remote fob, possiable draw in system possiable fuse or possiable keyless entry module failure

It's not that unusual for a battery to fail that soon, and the "no lights, no nothing" says that it's the battery again. Your best bet at this point is to pull the battery and take it to the point of purchase for testing. They should either replace it under warranty or charge it for you. After you replace the battery you should have the charging/electrical system checked for possible shorts or power drains.
