I had the same problem with my 1500 at frist it would not ide then it would be hard to start in the morning it was the idel air control valve on the side of the throttle body I replaced it an it ideld right then after 6 months it would just die an wouldent start till u cranked it a lot it was simple it was a crowed fuel pump fuse not letting the fule pump get enough voltage to pulse to start an lose connection an die
defective mechanical fuel pump if you have a carb on your motor. If you have fuel injection it could be a combination of worn piston rings and excessive flooding from ur fuel system
You usualy drop tank to get fule pump but on this car you may be able to get to it if you remove the rear seats. by doin this you expose the top of the fule tanks(right where the fule pump sits)
Have checked the fuel pump fuse how about the main relay. Have you tried checking and testing that? If you need instructions on how to test it let me know.
When you turn the key to access. II You hear the fuel pump run if you listen through the gas cap.
If the fuel pump is working I wouldnt assume it is a has problem yet. I would start by checking spark make sure you are getting spark. Then make sure you are getting air. I would undo the intake pipe at the throttle body.
