I own a 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx. My wife hit a pot hole a couple of days ago and tonight I noticed a strong fuel smell near the left rear wheel. I looked underneath the car and could not see a "wet spot" on the driveway. Only after the engine was running did I not a drip coming between the rear wheels.
SOURCE: My BMW seems to be leaking oil from the rear underside
the leak is most likely coming from either the differential cover gasket or the input flange that the drive shaft attaches to, this is called the pinion seal.
SOURCE: Wheels locking up when turning sharply left or right
Could be one of several problems in the rear diff.
It depends if its the optional locking rear diff and it's stuck locked, or it is the limited slip and something inside caused it to lock.
See a mechanic before you do more damage.
SOURCE: gas fume smell near filler
there are gasoline vent tubes running on top the tank to the filler neck. check to see if the hoses are compromised in any way. these tubes also run to the front to a evap canister check these as well.
SOURCE: I filled my 2006 E Class with gas this morning,
Probably a fuel line leak. inspect for drips with engine running. gas evaporates quickly so will often not leave a puddle.
