Replace fuel filter. when you ran out of fuel you picked up water in the bottom of the tank. Turn the ignition switch on and off several times to prime the injectors before trying to start. The water in the tank may have damaged the fuel pump. Do not damage the starter. If it does not start right away, riding the starter is not going to help matters. Investigate the fuel problem.
All that is needed here is to turn the ignition switch on and off several times, Then go ahead and try starting the engine. If no start, repeat the on off procedure again. This should prime fuel injectors
here are no fuel in your fuel system you neet to crank your engine till the feul gets to your injectors or blow air into your fuel filler plug to help on the fuel, if still nothing check your fuel pump
filling the filters before installing will make priming go more quickly. once the pump is primed crack open the fuse line at the injector while cranking until you have fuel pulsing out, close it then move on to the next injector. keep doing this until the engine runs smoothly. it may start running before all the injectors have been purged so keep clear of all moving parts and a fire extinguisher handy would be a good idea.
If you ran out of gas, then you will need to perform the following. Turn the key to the on position (do not start). Turn key off. Repeat the process a few more times. Also, have someone help you, for when you turn the key to on, you should be able to hear the fuel pump hum. After a few times, try starting the vehicle. Air has gotten trapped in the fuel injectors. By turning the key a few times, it primes the injectors. If it still will not start, or you cannot hear the fuel pump, then have it checked out. Hope that works. Let me know.
Your fuel pump is in the tank. Turn on the ignition, and listen if you can hear the pump run in the tank. It will only run a few seconds if the engine is not running. You can repeat this several times to prime the fuel injection.
Depress shrader valve on fuel rail and see if pump primed,If primed take air snorkle from throttle body of and use carb cleaner to gett running,Some one can keep giming short burst or cleaner to thottle boby inlet till air gets out of system.Have seen this before.Air trapped in injectors.
I suspect your fuel filter is clogged. This often happens after you run out of gas because your engine sucks up all the gas in the bottom of the tank where dirt and debris have been collecting for years. I recommend changing your fuel filter and if that doesn't fix your problem, try adding some fuel injector cleaner to your gas.
