SOURCE: 1996 crown victoria has no heat

i think it is the heater control valve i think it is mounted on the firewall by the top close to the hood it will have two black 5/8 hoses attached to it check and make sure it still has the cable attached to it before you replace

good luck here is the (how to) for your car

The heater control valve (sometimes called the water flow valve)controls the flow of coolant into the heater core from the engine.
Heater control valves are operated in three basic ways: by cable, thermostat, or vacuum. Cable-operated valves are controlled directlyfrom the heater control lever on the dashboard.
f48-04_3184.gifCable-operated heater valve used to control the flow of water or coolant through the heater core.Thermostatically controlled valves feature a liquid-filled capillarytube located in the discharge air stream off the heater core thatsenses air temperature and modulates the flow of water to maintain aconstant temperature regardless of engine speed or temperature. Mostheater valves utilized on today's car are vacuum operated. These valvesare normally located in the heater hose line or mounted directly in theengine block.
To replace a heater control valve:

  • Refer to your vehicle's service manual to locate the valve.
  • Drain or lower the fluid level in the cooling system.
  • Unclamp, unbolt and unplug the valve.
  • Reverse procedures to complete installation.
CAUTION
Identify the heater control valve carefully. It is easily confused with other parts.

SOURCE: emergency brake locked after pull release handle

handbrake jammed on somewhere ,could be front cable ,because the rear cable is pulled by the compensator so if it was the rear one then i would expect only one cable siezed and that is normally the kerbside one.

SOURCE: my driver side door wont lock

The actuator that locks the door is probably worn out. I would simply lock it manually .
If you desire to , you can replace the actuator by removing the interior trim panel and drilling the rivets holding the actuator in the door. Replace the rivets with small screw/bolt combos .

How to bypass crown victoria theft deterrent system

You can't by-pass this system. Try locking/unlocking the doors with the key fob. If that doesn't work, try locking/unlocking the drivers door with the key. If still no luck, try disconnecting the battery for a minute or so. Do you have another key you can try?

How do I remove the inner door panel on a 96 ford crown vic without damage?

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

I have a 1993 Ford Crown Victoria LX missing the drivers window. I have a replacement window but cannot figure out how to get it in. Does it slide in from the top, or can the metal frame be removed somehow...

After removing your door panel you should look for rivets holding your glass or motor if equipped with power widows. The window slides down but you may have to pull the window molding aside for easy installation.

Crown victoria window motor replacement

remove the door panel. be very careful and make sure you get all the screws out. Should be maybe 2 on the bottom half of the door, and 2 on the top half. one is right by the handle, which is the one i forgot the first time i took my door pannel off. carefully pull the panel upward, and outward at the same time. Once the panel is off, disconnect the controls, and remove the light from the panel. Remove the plastic cover very carefully, it will tear, just keeps noise, and air, and the elements out.
There will be 3 screws, they are torx bolts, once you pull those 3 out. They are located middle of the door towards the right side. The motor will drop down a little bit. disconnect the wires for the motor, and wiggle the motor off of the regulator. the crown vics have a decent size hole to get into the door panel, you can also remove the speaker if that would help you do it. other than that, it just lining up the new motor into the car, pushing it into the regulator, and putting the 3 bolts in, make sure they are snug, and not cross threaded. put everything back together, and your set.
