1996 plymouth breeze jumped timing after timing belt replaced ran at idle for 20 mins then stalled no start

check that the belt has not come off
it is doubtful that the belt will "jump" timing after 20 minutes of running so check for other failres

How to change a timing belt with a 2.4ltr motor?

Lift the car on lift and remove right tire . Remove front engine mount on the timing cover. Remove timing cover. Align the top timing mark on camshaft to the mark on back cover. Crankshaft will align automatically. Lose the belt tensioner and remove the belt.
I will suggest to replace the water pump and the seal on the camshaft and crankshaft. Install the belt and turn by hand crankshaft twice. make sure the marks align again. Install the cover, mount, serpentine belt.refill coolant. Bleed the system and run the engine till warm and radiator fan start. Cool and check the coolant level again.
good luck

How much should a dealership charge to replace timing belt and water pump on 1999 Plymouth Breeze 2.0?

it depends what their door rate is to do the job and they can charge what they can as far as parts are concerned.you don`t say if its a dohc or a sohc(dual or single cam motor).roughly it would take about 3.5-5 hours to change the timing belt and about .4-.7 to change the water pump.call around and compare prices as this doesn`t have to be done at a dealer.

Timing belt broke. does it have an interference.

No your engine is not an interference engine you should have the chrysler 3.0 liter engine i believe in your van, I changed a timing belt on one of those 2 years ago because the belt broke, after installing the new belt the van runs fine, so to my knowledge that engine if you have it IS NOT interference you should be able to install a new belt and it will be fine....

1996 plymouth breeze, leaking water pump. how

this depends on your level of mechanical expertise - it is an internal water pump, meaning you will need to disassemble the timing components to service (this is also a good time to replace the timing belt, as it needs to come off anyways and the belt is relatively inexpensive). if your vehicle has the 2.4 liter engine, there is nothing very difficult about this timing belt. however, i tend to caution people about attempting this if they are inexperienced, as reassembling the timing components incorrectly can cost you and engine. good luck!

How do you set the timing on a Plymouth Voyager ? I have to repace a broken timing belt. I was also told to replace the water pump is that true.

It is recommended because if you have to change the water pump belt change since you have to remove it and you save work in the future as we recommend changing the camshaft seals and crankshaft as it saves time and money

My car jump time

#1 are you sure it jumped time?#2 how do you know this? if in fact it has jumped time you will need to have the timing belt replaced.the average interval for replacement is 60,000-80,000.it is also a good idea to replace the water pump at the same time as it is driven by the timing belt.

1998 plymouth Breeze

Timing belt has nothing to do with fuel issue. If you're only running on 2 cylinders...you need to find out if spark is missing from those cylinders. Also possible that when the timing belt was replaced, it was not timed properly which can bend a valve, causing rough running.
