Replacing Spark Plugs Jeep 4 0L

Easy job. Remove bolts holding coil pack. Disconnect Plug from Coil Pack. Remove sparkplugs. Check Gap on new plugs. Install them and put the coil pack back on. Just did it myself last weekend.

SOURCE: 97 jeep wrangler getting spark not fuel. I

Sounds good ninemil, I would also check for any bent or disconnected fuel lines that would restrict the fuel flow as well. I do not know if this has a fuel pump assembly but you should be able to hear it actuate on when the key is in the "on" position. How did it act before you shut it off? Was it harder to start? Make sure you buy a high quality pump (Carter) many of those cheaper brands will fail trust me.

Check for un-isulated connection on the hot wire lead. It might have been after-market but on mine the connection would short out, blowing a fuse. 1 inch of heat shrink tube fixed the problem.

SOURCE: 1988 Jeep Wrangler starting problems. I replaced

you are saying it is getting spark, and fuel, right? If it is getting spark, and fuel in to the throttle body, check compression-make sure the Mass Air Flow sensor is plugged in, and double check your spark-you say you replaced all those ignition items, but do not say that you have spark.

What type of spark plugs does a 2006 Jeep Wrangler use?

Hello reconrandall,

For the 2.4 four cylinder the recommended plug is a Champion RE16MC gaped to .037 to .042 inches and for the 4.0 six cylinder, NGK ZFR5N gap to .030 to .035 inches.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Jerry

How do I change the spark plugs on a 2006 wrangler X 4.0 liter

You will need to remove whats called the coil rail assembly. Tighten the plugs to 26-30 Ft/Lbs of torque, and re-install the coil rail.

Wont start after replacing spark plugs in 2006 jeep wrangler

Hi my name if Tom and I am here to help.

The most likely problem after changing plugs is that you got the wires to the wrong plugs. I am guessing.
Did you change one plug at a time or pull all the plugs and changed them as a group?

If you did not mix up the plug wires, I would need more info to help you further. I trust this info was of help. Do not hesitate to get in touch with me at your convenience.
