2004 Volvo C70 console light

I have a 2004 Volvo C70 and the console light has burned out. This is the second time in 4 years with the first time being replaced under warranty. Why does it burn out so fast and how do I replace it to last?

My battery drains if I leave my 99 Volvo C70 convertible sit for more than a week. This is the second time in 2 years that the new battery won't charge back up. The alternator is putting out between 12.7...

You problem may be the alternator...It may be putting out voltage, but not enough amperage...voltage doesn't charge the battery, the current(ampoerage) does. have the alt checked. then if its good, make sure you have no accessories that are plugged in or left on in the car

How do you shut off the service light on a 1998 volvo C70 coupe

It has to be done throught the OBD II port, and as far as I am aware not many scan tools will do it. The dealer has tools that do it. If you stop by and ask them to reset it they should do it free of charge, it only takes 30 seconds to do.

I am lookind for a fault code reader reset dtcs service light for the home mechanic

Answer Ijust tried this with my 2004 C70 and it worked.
Cheers!

To reset your service light here are the steps.

1. Get in your car and shut the door.
2. Put your key in the ignition
3. Turn your ignition key to position 1
4. Push in your Odometer reset button and hold it in while holding it move the ignition key to position 2 while holding down the odometer reset button.
5. After couple of seconds of holding the button down and the key in position 2 your service light will start to blink once that happens let go of the reset button and start the car.

This should reset your service light and a service light on your Volvo C/S/V70 cars from 1999 onwards.

2004 Volvo C70 immobilizer problems

I had the same issues with my 2004 C70 and it almost drove me to distraction. It would get up to about 1500 revs and then cut out. Then when I tried to re-start it it refused to start up at all. As with your car, sometimes it was just fine and others it could take half and hour before I could get it to start again. It turned out there were 2 problems. The first problem was fixed by a new rev sensor and the second by a new antenna ring. It's been fine for the last month. Volvo are aware and my excellent local dealer charged just £182 for a complete fix.
