I AM HAVING TROUBLE WHEN I SHIFT IN TO 3RD GEAR IT POPS RIGHT OUT OF GEAR EVERYTIME.I CAN SHIFT IN TO 3RD BUT I HAVE TO HOLD IT IN GEAR AND I CAN FEEL IT WANT TO POP OUT OF GEAR. SO IM DRIVING WITH OUT USING 3RD GEAR AND I AM SCARDE I AM GOING TO MAKE THINGS WORSE. CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE NAME OF THE PART IN NEED TO GET TO FIX THIS PROBLEM

The 3rd Gear Synchro is worn or damaged, which is why it grinds when you try to upshift or downshift into 3rd gear. When it goes out completely you will have a very hard time shifting into 3rd gear, since the Synchro lines up the gears to make shifts smooth and easy.
Some cars came with this light to help the driver know when to shift to the next gear. IE: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on. It will not indicate when to downshift to a lower gear. It's main function was for optimal mileage and proper RPM shifting. Happy driving.
your probly not puting your clutch in all the way and not shifting fast anoth.Or it was not installed the right way and it was unbalanced so probly need to check it out or go a proformace place and have them look at it.
What you need to check is the transmission release bearing because if there is a clearance on the release bearing you will encounter this problem and also check the transmission oil.
ummm i would say you need to adjust your trans shift cable, check your fluid level, and the problem i had with my dodge was similar to yours... it was my 3rd-4th actuator spring, it had broke and couldnt hold the pressure to keep it in gear
