Runs great until it reaches operating temp then if you rev the engine and let off it will stumble and die, then it will not start until engine cools down?

the first thing that needs to be checked is the fluid level. it may have a leak and has now gotten too low to move car. check the trans oil dipstick with vehicle running in park on flat ground. if it is low, top it off with dex lll trans oil and see if it moves better. if restored to normal shifting, ck for leakage. dont fix the leak first without checking for normal shifting down the road, you could be wasting time and money if any damage has occurred.

you say the engine shuts down when it gets hot if it runs rough before doing so it could be the coolant temperature sensor allowing the engine to overfuel if the engine cuts out in a couple of seconds but sounds smooth it could be the fuel pump , if it cuts out instantly its electrical.

It sounds like maybe the igniter located in the distributor.

disconect trany solenoids if you can test it at lower speedsi,,distribuitor may go crazy ,like high voltage going to wrong wires so change that if it is easy enough, fuel pressure regulator may play a roll or coolant temp sensor under the distributor also
SOURCE: 1992 accord replaced the main relay now stumbles and dies
Could be a problem with the ignitor inside the distributor. common problem. beware of aftermarket distributors, like from AZ they are JUNK
