2004 does a false start then will not start for at least 10 to 20 minutes. It will crank but not start.

Cold start , stall.
so when it does start does car run perfect.?

the first time any car has starting issues, (not cranking)
tune it up.
start with fresh sparkplugs. then filters. 1920 to now.

My 2000 exposition doesn't start.new battery, alt and starter.when try to start I get one click and won't start. But after 10,20 or thirty attempts it starts and runs fine. Please help , thanks Bob

Old post but , this answer covers all , of this type symptoms.
new head,
ran for 30 minutes
so does it crank ? ok? if not dont crank, it can start.
so crank is next. (first)
backfiring (true to the air cleaner) usually means TIMING IS way off and sure engines can start with timing way off and then stall and flood out.
nothing new there.
you did not time the engine correctly.

get the FSM on engine. read the pages.
or go to alldata.com and read that.

Hi...sounds like you might need to replace your Distributor Magnetic Pickup !

I had my battery changed in my 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe and since then my heater has been blowing cold air and it's 30 degrees out. HELP!!!

disconnect battery for 5 minutes, now connect battery. now turn key on (do not start engine) leave key on for 1 minute, now crank engine , now it should work.

Starting you have to crank it for a couple of seconds and stop then crank it again before it starts almost every time you start. If you shut it off only for a few minutes and then go to start it will fire...

try to prime the injectors first Turn the key to accessory position(do not crank) turn key to off Try to start the car. If this does not work try priming twice

you may need headgasket. nissan has a fuel pressure regulator kit, but that is for "long cranking" issue, where it takes about 5 seconds or more of cranking, before the car starts. the problem is leaking regulator, which results in loss of fuel pressure from the system, after you shut the car off. What you describing is a condition, where coolant enters cylinders after you shut the car off, resultin in the coolant flooding your plugs.
