Okay. i have seen alot of fords that wont start but ran good and got parked and then wont start, the problems i have found is first the fuelpump goes bad,try this, have someone try to start the truck and at the same beat the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber hammer, this shakes the pump and sometimes makes a bad pump start back up, if you get van going with the method then pump is bad and needs replacing. the other thing i have seen alot is that fords have a fuel shutdown switch, this shuts the fuelpump off when van is in a crash or i have seen this just by the van getting tapped in a parking lot, so check the switch, you will need to look in the manual to locate it and you will use your finger on the top to push the button in and you will feel it click a little and then try to start the van, here are a few locations they put the switch.i jsut remembered on this van the switch is in the rightside in the luggage compartment, open the rear tailgate and look to the right on the side you will see a decal that say fuel switch, thats the switch. hope this helps. good day

Instead of guessing as to the problem learn to test or take it to a qualified repair shop . Changing ECU without doing it correctly can cause problems that were not there before . I have trouble starting my 313 cdi van. Its a 2003 model. When I spray ether into the air filter, it starts. I know the glow plugs need replacing, but even on warm days it wont start. Any ideas?

It sounds more like the fuel pump.A fuel filter would be a more gradual problem than all of a sudden plus unleaded gas is much cleaner than the old leaded days where the filters would clog more frequently.Many cars these days have the fuel pump basically on the top of the fuel tank kind of like a cap,and is a very difficult self repair if that is the case.I am not sure where they are on your larger vehicle,but my Ford wagon has it under the backseat.There are no downloadable parts breakdowns/locations online but if you call a dealer or a couple of shops,someone will tell you for free because they want your business.You can also look at a haynes or chilton repair manual.Sometimes the library has them available,or if you want to buy one or look through one,they are at national auto parts stores usually for about $20-$25.Good luck!

well if you security light is on, then you have to put your key in the on position for exactly 10 mins and wait until the light blinks and then turns of and then you turn the key off and they you can start it. i have a 2002 alero and it works for my car.

Start by checking if it's a fuel or fire problem. Take a plug wire off and turn motor over.If there is fire, Take the hose going from the air cleaner to the throtle body off and spray a small amount of carb. cleaner in.If it's a fuel prob.,check the fuel pump relay (under the hood in a black box) (swap the relay out with another relay in the box ) If the relay is o.k., it's probly the fuel pump. If it;s a fireing prob., start with the coil and wires going to the coil.
