Have you checked or replaced the water temp sensor ? Also check the connection to the sensor for rust or corrosion
SOURCE: 98 vw cabrio need to replace window regulator
THis is common Too common. As I posted before.
As I posted in the Passat questions.
The jetta may slightly differ.
Yes. If your window has fallen down and will not roll up.
99% Chance you car is suffering the Infamous VW plastic clip.
The door panel comes off With a T-10 torx or a Hex (Allen) wrench
that will fit and A large Philips Screw Driver..
Remove the Plastic cover on the inside Door handle.
And the Screw or Screw along the Bottom of the door panel.
Then remove the screws that hold the handle the the door.
They are located behind the Plastic plate you removed with a tiny screw driver earlier... Be careful not the mark up the cover whaytprying it up. It is best to pry from underneath. Where marks if made can not be seen
After the screws are out 4 I believe. The Use of a CLip tool ir best.
For getting behind the panel to pop it off. A screw driver will work.
After all the clips are released. Pull the light at the bottom of the panel down and out. Disconnect it ur push it back thought the hole it came from..
Now you need a 10mm socket, or wrench to remove the 12 bolts that hold the metal plate to the Door. Remove all the 10mm bolts, If the widow has not already fallen in the door. It should be released. By removing the Black 2" plugs. THe loosen the bolts that clamp the window the the arms. DO NOT LOOSEN THEM ALL the way, .
Disconect the all the wiring.. THe Door lock cable, can be a pain.
I think it pulls down,.
Next remove the Metal plate. that is the regulator.
reverse to install

SOURCE: hi, i put a new water pump in my 2001 vw cabrio it
You said it still leaks? Where is it leaking from now? When a water pump goes bad it usually leaks from the front at the output shaft. It's doubtful that it's still leaking there. So where is it leaking now? If you suspect it was not installed properly it should be reinstalled. If not from the water pump then you need to locate the leak and take care of if. Most newer cars have aluminum heads. This material saves weight but at a cost. It is far more susceptible to overheating which will cause the head to warp. Even driving a few minutes in an overheated state can cause this. It's far cheaper for you to deal with the leak now then the alternative later.
SOURCE: I have a 87 vw jetta gli the car overheats
considering the remedies/replacements you have carried out have you checked that the cooling fan is operating ? also as for heater cold? this may be also the possibility that your engine has a cyl head gasket failure ie hot compression fro cylinder is blowing via gasket into cooling system resulting in this gas finding its way into heater pipes and air locks preventing coolant flow thro heater best advice is to have cooant pressure test or what is known as a sniffter test at the head tank this will determine if gasses are present from engine do you see any slight oil film in head tank? as this is another sign of gasket in early stages of failure a garage doing these tests will be able to confirm or not ? if h/gasket problem hope this helps ?
