Honda 2004 dash lights and radio turn off when I am driving

Possibly a bad electrical section of the ignition switch. Fairly common, available aftermarket. But check with Honda, too, some of them are less expensive at the dealer!

First thing I would check is all frame grounds... like the negative battery cable and the grounding strap on the passenger side motor Mount to the wheel hub. In any electrical system, lights draw more current than anything (except the battery) when you turn them on... Check the grounds!

start with fully charging your battery.

It is possible the alternator is causing this... it is also possible the battery is causing this also... ALSO could be the battery terminals are not making GOOD contact... take them off, clean them with a STIFF wire brush.. and put a little dielectric grease on them to prevent corrosion.. tighten snugly!!!!!!

Most cars have the dash light wire in the wires going to the radio. Did you use a store bought adapter the plugs into the honda wire harness to connect the radio? Idf not you may have the dash light wire grounded with the radio and it's blown the dash light fuse. first unplug the radio. then go though the fuse and find the blown one under the dash fuse panel. Replace the fuse.( if their not uswed up the fuse panel has extra fuses and thier marked as spares). try the dash lights, if their workingyou need to find the wire at the radio and make sure it"s not being connected to ground. You might need to use a test light to look for power and when you find it turn the lights on and off the be shure that you have the right wire. If it's still not working you may need to investagate the dash light dimmer swich that turns the brightness up and down to the dash lights. The overload as the radio was connected possibly wrong can blow this switch instead of blowing the fuse. The swich pries out of the dash and you can test it withthe test light. One wire is ground ones the power from the dash panel fuse coming from the headlight switch and the other is the lights thems selves. This switch it'self lights in the dark, so it has a ground for it's bulb.

Mine went out as well, it's the Radio itself. Need to replace it or fix it. I got mine fixed at Honda dealership, Radio supplied by Honda, and I paid $99 for labor.

the code numbers for your radio are based on the vin number, if you call a honda dealership service center and give them your vin number, someone will probably give you the code.
The airbag light can come on for many reasons, it can be an issue in the system , but on your vehicle there are sensors in the doors also, so you ever have anything leaning against the passenger door when driving?

wire harness problem, have it checked or DIY if you have knowledge with a multi meter checking resistance and voltage.

sounds like the problem i had with my 97 subaru the lights were out for the fan switch and buttons for heat postions, i had to replace all the bulbs they were burnt out.

Hi i just bought a 04 coupe v6 and the light on the radio didn't work, i took it to honda and they said that it just wares out after some time almost light a plasma t.v. so they told me the as long as the vehicle is under 105 k Honda takes care of it free of charge. there is really no way of fixing it your self if your honda is under this mileage your golden. hope this help you.
