Where is the heater core found, how do u change it in a 97 saturn
I just did this job a few months ago. It helps to remove the seats, center console and, if it's been leaking coolant all over your floorboard, the carpet. The heater core is tucked up right under the radio; you'll have to contort yourself a bit to get to it. I'm a teeny girl, so it was easier for me to just lie on my back inside the car while working on the inside. Since you're likely a guy and larger than me, you might have to kneel on the ground with the doors as open as you can get them. I recommend kneepads as you'll be spending a good amount of time down there. And get new hose clamps. Ratcheting ones are a million times easier to deal with than the factory ones.
It is in hte bottum of the center console. you need to remove the side panels to the center dash console. they are just hanging there by a hinge. I would recamend buying a chilton or haines manual it ilistrates the job and makes it much easier. You will have to remove the ventilation lever linkage and a few body screws. its about a 2 to 4 hour job, and is much easier if you have someone to help.
