2003 jeep grand cherokee. I have engine check light the codes i have are p1765 when i looked up the codes it said "Transmission 12 volt supply relay control circuit" . I don't really have a clue where ot begin. this economy has broke me. If any one can help.

    I have no reliable info on that system but I would look in the power distribution center near the battery and see if you can find a relay marked for that, then go from there. I may be wrong, but it's a place to start!

Unfortunately, the relay may be located inside the transmission. Try utube if you have not already.

SOURCE: 2002 jeep grande cherokee check engine light

A common problem on many of the new cars is that when a person gets gas, they don't tighten up the gas cap. This will turn on the check engine light. Did you get gas recently? Another option is to see what code is stored in the ECU that turned the light on. This is done with a scanner tool. If you do not have a scanner, then have a dealer look at it.

SOURCE: Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7CRD (2004) auto won't change gear

check all the fuses before you do anything else. After all a fuse provides power to the electronic box that controls the transmission. Other than that I would not advice on a more complicated troubleshooting since there is no way for you to test a bad transmission computer, even mechanic shops don't know how to test them. The only thing they would do is slap a known good one and see what happens.

I have codes p1765 po753 and 743 on a 1997 Dodge Dakota 4x4 That occurred after replacing replacing relays for the trailer light in the relay box.

All those codes refer to the transmission on an automatic gearbox. Looks like there's a fault on the gearbox electrics.

P1765=Transmission 12 volt supply relay control circuit.
P0753=Shift Solenoid "A" Electrical
P0743=Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical

Code says p1765 something about transmission

P1765-An open or shorted condition is detected in the Transmission Relay control circuit.
It is either your transmission relay or the direct clutch. You may try removing he relay, cleaning it and put it back and see if things change... if it is the direct clutch this could be a pricey repair if you are not able to do it yourself. Good luck.

Service Engine light on, code is misfire..repaired 4 times, keeps happening, mechanic mystified never saw before...also "groans" going around corners/while turning, kept changing transmission...

Oh, if the car 'groans' around corners, many times this is a wheel bearing going out, not the transmission, especially if you had it rebuilt. One can check the wheel bearing for excessive play by jacking up the front end and wiggling the wheel at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions and 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions.

What did the technician replace for the misfire code?
