It sounds like the hyd. clutch is not working. If the clutch won't release then you can't get the transmission in a gear while it is running, without that grinding noise.

My 97 ford exlorer will not go into gear except when I put it in 4 wheel low. transmission has been making a popping noise for a while.

If it won't go into gear, sounds like you've run out of transmission fluid. That grinding sound when you turn the shaft by hand, sounds like you've run it for a bit too long without fluid and wore the gears down. Start it up and check the trans fluid with dipstick. If none on stick, put some in it. You may have already ruined the transmission though. But you never know. Try putting fluid in. Might work.(for a while)

04 focus gear stick wedges fron 1st to 2nd gear

Sounds like you have a bad shifter or a bad slave cylinder. Check the fluid in the reservoir and if you're losing some, then you need to see where the leak is coming from. If it's at the slave cylinder, you're in for an expensive repiar.

Turn key, makes clicking noise but not start.

Double check your battery connections. If the battery is new and the starter makes a series of clicking noises when the key is held in the start position than you are not getting a good power supply to the starter or there is not a sufficient ground.

Why wont my 86 4x4 pickup stay in reverse?

The problem may be the shifter bushings where the shifter goes into the transmission tower, remove the shifter boot, pop the shifter out of the tower by compressing the retainer down then turn, it will pop out, it's spring loaded. There is a bushing at the end of the shifter and there is another one that fits into the opening, this one usually disintegrates and may be gone. There should be a diagram online or a utube video how to do this.

The shifter is moving from Drive to Neutral and make grinding or creaking noise while I'm driving. Some times wen the jeep is park and I shift to reverse does the same noise. Fluids are ok but the tranfer...

Though you did not say, I'm going to assume it's a stick shift.
Shifter popping out of gear nearly always indicated an internal transmission problem (likely worn synchros) Either way, trans needs to be replaced or rebuilt. Transfer case is supposed to be filled with good grade auto transmission fluid, though some people opt for gear oil (but it gets really thick in cold weather). You may aslo have a t-case problem if you ran it low, but it is not related to shifter problem!
