It is directly behind the alternator, about 6-8 inches down. It says power steering in red letters on the cap. The alternator is the silver colored thing on the top passenger side of the engine. hope this helps ya
A 1996 Buick Lasabre is a front wheel drive (FWD) car, so the front of the motor is facing the front passenger side wheel of the car. That said, the power steering fluid reservoir should be close to the front passenger side wheel tower.

replacing a line wouldnt be to hard, neither would replacing the whole pump, which is probably what you will have to do. If you checked it and it was dry then there has, more than likely been damage done to the pump. The biggest problem with your situation isn't really difficulty of the job but more the cost of replacement parts. I can't say for sure on your vehicle but pumps can get pretty pricey for some cars. Good luck on your fix.
Hard to steer, leaking fluid all over the place. Check and make sure the power steering fluid is full before taking it to a mechanics, if the power steering is full and it's still hard to turn or more difficult than before AND is NOT leaking fluid everywhere it could be the PS pump.
power steering fluid is usually transmission fluid, if you use a fluid that is too thin it can cause this problem, the power steering reservoir is under the hood.....hope this helps.....cheers.
On the passenger side of the car towards the rear of the engine buy the belt should be a black cap with either a picture of a steering wheel or marked power steering.remove the cap and fill it so the fluid lines up with the mark on the dipstick marked full or full cold
Power steering fluid reservoir is built right in to the pump which could be found along one of the pully to your fan belt. The cap is also the dip stick. Good luck
It should be a bottle amongst the engine block somewhere, usually it's near to the windscreen washer pump and brake fluid pumps. At the front of my engine I have a huge black box with a screw top which is for my power steering, i'd imagine it's fairly easy to find on any engine.
can't find the access point for the Power Steering fluid
