Question about Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

Accelerating Vibration 2007 Chevy trailblazer. Have had the throttle, ignition switch, and ignition sensor all replaced but am still experiencing a vibrating sensation @30 mph or higher. I have taken it to the dealer they say there is nothing wrong with the acceleration. How can it go from a smooth acceleration to a noisy one with a vibration?

Could be several things, check the following: engine mounts, transmission mounts, transmission universal joints. If its not these then you may have a bad misfire?

Not a tune up problem,
You need to have all U-joints checked out,They will give you the vibrations only while acceleration

2007 Chevy Trailblazer SS 6.0 Ltr Engine OBD2 Code P1682

DTC P1682: Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2
Circuit/System Description
There are 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits supplied to the engine control module (ECM). The first ignition circuit is provided by the powertrain relay, through a fuse. This ignition 1 voltage circuit supplies power to all the internal ECM circuits associated with the throttle actuator control (TAC) operation. The second ignition 1 voltage circuit is supplied by the ignition switch through a fuse, and is used to power the remaining internal ECM circuits. If the ECM detects a voltage difference between the 2 ignition 1 voltage circuits, DTC P1682 will set.

Reduced power while driving, car will die and you have to put in park and restart reduced power light will come on

Thus issue is common for the Chevy Trailblazer. That being said, many mechanics will chase the symptoms to issues that are not the real problem causing heafty repair charges. The solution boils down to one of two things;

1. Replace the ignition switch (electrical part). They seem to burn out.
2. Have a full scan of the main computer, it may be bad or going bad.

The later of the two solutions will be the more costly repair. Therefore try the switch first. Good luck

Problem with electronic throttle control maybe. Any light's lit on the instrument cluster or messages engine power reduced . Could be a sign a position sensor is going bad . The gas pedal assembly has to sensors as does the throttle body . You could try cleaning the throttle body bore . Having a qualified repair shop hook up a diagnostic scan tool to view sensor data would be a good thing .

2007 Chevy Trailblazer won't start

the ignition switch is a very common problem with these vehicles. when the problem is occuring check the pink wire coming off the ignition switch and see if there is power. the computer controls the starter on this vehicle and if there is insuficient voltage going to the ecu it will not power up.

How do you change the ingnition coil for a 2003 chevy trailblazer

it would not be the ignition coil....injector cleaner could help it, most people add it to the gas to help maintain clean injectors and you should do the same. as far as the coil no leave it alone.
