Question about 2001 Chrysler Sebring

1 Answer

Airbag light on, horn doesn't work, something sounded like it broke inside. My car had been stolen and finally fixed. The guy put over a 1,000 miles on it and involved a new oil pan and catalytic converter plus over $9,000 into fixing it. He drove it really hard. There was a big gouge on the steering wheel top and they had to disengage the airbag and re-engage it to replace cover. After that I kept hearing a 'swooshing sound when I turned the steering wheel. Could they have done something wrong when re-engaging the airbag. My car only has 46,000 miles on it. It is a 2001 Seibring Convertible.

Horn doesn't work, abs light on dash stays on and also cruise control does not work either

Typical reason for no cruise and horn is a bad clock spring underneath the airbag. Typically you have an airbag light on as well and not an abs light

Airbag light is on and the horn doesn't blow could this be a battery problem

Airbag light AND no horn is most likely a clockspring problem (Wiring coiled up like a spring connecting the wheel to the column and alllowing a connection at all turning angles)

I have a dodge caravan 2000, and the horn doesn't work. I changed the relay fuse and fuses. It still doesn't work. Please help.

REMOVE HOTWIRE HORN OR PRESS REMOTE BUTTON LOCK CAR DOORS IF YOU HEAR CAR HORN BLOWS WHEN ACTIVATE CAR ALARM. HORN WORKING.MORE LIKELY THE AIRBAG AND HORN PAD NEED REPLACING.IF YOU GOING TO FIX. DISABLE AIRBAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE REPLACING THE AIRBAG AND HORN PAD. TURN OFF RADIO.THEN DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 20 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING AIRBAG IN STEERING WHEEL.THAT HORN PAD WITH AIRBAG IS NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP.

My airbag light and horn not working on my crysler voyager 1997

hey guys with problems with the air bag lights on and horn not working in Chrysler Voyager...

this is the problem with the steering wheel clockwork spring. The connector that brings the wires from the steering wheel instruments (hord, airbag, cruise control) and takes it through the steering column to the car body but allows steering wheel to rotate without breaking the wires. The dealer should have adivised you that there is a life long warrantly from manufacturer of this part. There was a recall notice issued by Chrysler in 2003/4 to bring in car for replacement of part if the Airbag light came on. I got mine done last year under the recall.

1998 Dodge Grand Caravan Horn Not Working

The most common problem with this is the clockspring, it is located just under the steering wheel. It will cause the horn not to work, airbag light to come on, and the cruise not to work. There is probably a recall on this. Contact a local dealer to see if the recall applies to your car.
