1997 Chevy Camaro V6 I have posted about this once already today but I want to give more information and hopefully a more accurate response. The vehicle is under reving while idling in drive or any other gear (including reverse). Also when letting go of the brakes and letting the vehicle go in drive on its on it doesn't stay at full power it, the power seems to pulse. While in park the rpms bounce between 800-1500. Almost sounds like I'm reving the engine quickly, While stopped or first started the car seems like its burping a little in the exhaust not a steady sound like before. When accelerating my power during take off is below half but sometimes goes like normal. In simple terms it seems like it is "missing". I have replaced my fuel pump recently and check my injectors and they seem to be fine. I have also recently replace the muffler. When I am moving or accelerating the service engine soon light blinks. But when I'm stopped it just stays on and never at any point goes off. Please post all suggestions thank you!!

Have you had the truck scanned for codes? If so, what was the code, codes? Why did you replaced those listed parts. Can you hear any hissing noise coming from the engine or engine compartment?

It could be excessive play in the distributor shaft. Or even a collapsing rubber fuel line.

hi bob, take off the oil filler cap, have someone crank the engine while you look inside, if the rockers are not moving, it is a broken or slipped belt, if the rockers are moving try a compression test to see if the problem is limited to one cylinder or all of them....does the sound of the engine cranking seem faster than normal? is there any noise (clanking/banging) while cranking? marty good luck let me know!

Most likely the intake gaskets are bad. they will sag in the middle over time and allow a vacuum leak between the head and intake. recommend replacing the gaskets with the steel instead of plastic ones.
