Mirage Mitsubishi 2000 1.8L Rough Miss when Idle

Mirage Mitsubishi 2000 1.8L

Engine misses when idle.

It misses worse when you turn the air conditioning on.

Also misses roughly when you're in gear, but doesn't miss when you give it gas.

Actions taken so far: Cleaned EGR Valve (Had Carbon in it), Replaced PCV Valve, Changed Oil Filter, Replaced spark plugs and wires, Had Catalytic Converter checked.

Presently there are no error codes but there were codes for Catalytic converter and the EGR valve in the past.

My Status: Puzzled and awaiting a new course of action or a solution.

    I've tried spraying WD-40 before. I'll try carbon cleaner this time. Thanks I'll let you know how it goes.

    I think I've made huge mistake. I removed the Throttle posistion sensor thinking it was the Idle Air Controller(Was gonna clean it out). I put it back on but now when I'm driving and come to a complete stop the car wants to die. It will die if I have the AC on at the same time I come to an abrupt stop. What did I do?

Might want to look for vacuum leaks. Most misfires that go away with gas are caused by manifold vacuum leaks. The cat code can also be caused by the vac leak. There are different methods to find them and not real easy-but one way is to get a can of carb cleaner spray and spritz around intake areas. When the carb cleaner finds the leak--the car will run good for just and instant. Could be a rubber line or a manifold gasket. Hope it helped. Thanks

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.
