Sounds like the compressor blew up. Check if the belt in burnt out too.
Sounds to me like A/C compressor failure. An A/C compressor is kinda like an engine in that it has moving pistons in it that pump the refrigerant gas (freon). If a piston ceases up inside it could lock up the compressor. If you have the A/C off, the A/C clutch should disengage from the pulley allowing it to free spool and the engine to start and run fine. However, if you try to start the engine with the A/C on and the A/C clutch is engaged to a ceased up compressor it my stall on smaller engines or melt the drive belt right off.

Some problems are beyond fixya. You need a good auto air conditioning shop. Noisy when cabin air conditioning is
turned could be warning of compressor failure, that could leave you stranded. Get it checked out.

Check the engine relay by tapping it a little . relays sometimes get stuck. It is in the engine compartment at the fusebox.Remove it from the box and clean it. If your car starts. replace the relay.

Freon in ac system is probably low. Might even have leaked all out. The right way is to check it with a set of gauges. Most autoshops can check that and go from there.Other than that check the fuses.

There is a well known problem that is a manufacturer's defect with the soldered connection on the circuit board behind the temperature knob. There is a fix to re-solder the connections but the dealer will gladly take $450 to replace it with the same bad board that will last you a while. Look for the link to show you how to fix it yourself.
SOURCE: How do I clear the AC condensate drain on my 2008 CX-9?
Hello... It is possible that the condensation drain tube for the AC could be disconnected. This just happens sometime. This in turn allows condensation to settle in the AC Module and drip into the passenger compartment.
I recommend taking the vehicle to a mechanic for repairs...
Good Luck... Hope this helps...

The check engine light/service engine soon (yellow light) comes only when the computer control unit (called the PCM) senses a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system u will seldom feel the car engine run any different, there are about 200 possible faults that turn the light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free.
