Do I need to unplug all wiring to transmission if I put a 85 motor in a 95 chevy pickup

It probably won't work.
A 95 model trans would need the engine computer to know when to shift. And the computer would not work correctly with a 1985 engine unless you managed to reconnect all of the engine sensors.

My 99' chevy 1500 pickup truck headlights just

Could be a bad ground oh headlights or power not getting to the bulb hot side.
If you have a volt meter you can measure the voltage there on the headlamp.
First measure the hot side...if 12 volts there then measure the bulb ground side. If 12 v is there then the ground connection is bad.

Hope this helps you
