Put a code reader on and it shows P0300 code witch is randon multiple cylider misfire what is that.and can I fix it without high priced mechanics, their was a time when I could fix any of them.
Before the "Check Engine" light came on I was having issues... Today (02APR09), when I was returning home from work it lit up. The "issue" I discovered before-hand became even worse when it did actually light up...
After I got home, I used our "newly-acquired" CEN-TECH: CAN OBDII Code Reader #98568.
To me it felt like, when I used to drive a Manual Transmission vehicle, I was attempting to start off in second gear as opposed to starting in first.
Anyways, I had already assumed it was a transmission problem. This afternoon when I had plugged the code reader in it read:
"P03000 $10 1/1
Random/Multiple
Cylinder Misfire
Determined"
The users manual could only tell me less than I already knew. P=Powertrain, "PO"=Code type generic (SAE) 3=Ignition System or Engine Misfire, 00="Identifying specific malfunctioning section of the systems". "00" and the "$10"/"1/1" are where I'm left hanging... I have no clue as to where to go from here and I hope to find some suggestions so I can fix the truck.
Whens the last time you gave it a tune up???Check the distributor. It may have water or moisture in it or the rotor may have a hole burn't in it..Check all wires..If all that stuff is good look around for a vacuum leak.Maybe a hose came of the air cleaner or one off the duck work going to the intake..If that stuff is good then try giving it a fuel pressure test. That should help you with the problem..Have a great night..
