1992 525i transmission would just quit working and I would pull over shut off the car for 30 second and go on my way. After about a year it started to change and i would put it in gear and it would take off real slow no matter how high the rpm's. once I hit 35 - 40 the transmission would work perfect. Dreaded stops

Check the oil level in the transmission. Check that it is cherry red and not dark brown indicating internal failure. Have a pressure test done on the transmission . have a clutch and brake band adjustment done. change filter in the transmission.

SOURCE: My transmission shift very hard. The drive shaft had to be changed when I bought the car. My car is a 1990 BMW 525i

Sounds like you have problems with a part called the valve body inside the transmission or other hydraulic control problems, i suspect you will need to overhaul the transmission to cure this.

SOURCE: automatic 330i 2001, if i start accelarating at

the gearbox is a "fuzzy logic"system.gearchange depends on accelerator pedal position/revs/load.if you drive without depressing the gas peddle more than a third down you should find all gearchanges much smoother.(if you drive with gas peddle almost hard down all the time yhe car will hold gears longer...poss 4500 revs or more......

Check the shifter linkage, and any bushings that may have deteriorated in the linkage. If that's not the problem, replace the transmission fluid and filter.

Transmission wont shift.last night it would only go 30 mile an hour.at one point it shut itself off while driving.

Year , make, and model would help. Not likely the input and output sensors. They don't shut off, but do go to limp mode, 2nd gear. When they quit pulling(shut off) it is most likely an internal problem. Code readers won't read transmission codes. A generic code from the ECM will be p0700.

I meant it quit pulling i cut the car off waited about 5 r 10 seconds granked it back up in neutral put back in drive started pulling like a new 1 4 about 5 miles same thing over and over can u explai

okay, let us see if we can figure this out.
Its sounds like you were driving and the engine stopped working or engine kept running but transmission stopped pulling the car? and when you shut it down for a while then restarted car the transmission worked good for about 5miles and then stopped pulling. is this correct? if it is then check the transmission fluid and make sure it is full, to check fluid car must be on level ground and engine running and shiftter in park.

If the fluid is full then i would say you have ****** problems and should have it looked at, before it gets worse. good day.

I hav ea 94 lincoln. It works in reverse. I start out in drive. It is fine from 1st to second gear. It will not go into third or overdrive.

This is a computer shifted transmission, if there is a problem with the electrical shift solenoids the system will set a code. Aamco does this code testing from free, I suggest you have them hook it up and see what shows up in the computers memory.

93 prelude si transmission trouble

As the commenter said, check if the tranny fluid is full. A clear pink or red is best, a dirty brown or cloudy color is probably trouble. It's a '93- it is 24 years old, everything wears out eventually. I'm as old as the hills myself, and I can't run anymore. Start looking for a replacement transmission, or have a transmission shop diagnose it. Unless you are attached to the car, don't let them talk you into a new transmission-the cost may be more than the car is worth. You might want a used unit- try to get ANY kind of warranty-even 30 days is better than nothing. If it lasts beyond 30 days without a problem, it might go another 24 years---pshaw! not really.
