No break pedal

Ive replaced the front calipurs, the front right passenger side break hose, and blead the breaks about 3 diffrent times, the fluid in the lines is fresh. When the car is off the breaks are a little spongey, but would work. When the car is on the pedal goes straight to the floor with very little pressure. there are no obvious leaks anyware what should i do?

Have you checked the thing under the brake pedal? I can't recall what it is, a regulator or tensioner or something?

SOURCE: changed break line but still have no pressure in breaks

yes each caliper has its own bleed screw, usually at the top of the caliper, it you have drum brakes on the rear then the bleed screw will be above the line fitting on back of the backplate. use an assistant start with the right rear, open bleed screw tell assistant to push brake pedal down and hold it, tighten bleed screw and then tell them to release it, repeat this process until solid fluid comes out (no air), then move to the right front, left rear and finally left front. make sure that before you start brake bleeding the master cylinder is full, recheck level between wheel bleeds

SOURCE: I have a '94 Chevy S10 with 70,000 miles. About 3

sounds like an air lock you need to drain system and bleed all your brakes but check to see how thin your discs are first

SOURCE: I changed the break pad,

check your master cylinder and booster see if you see a fluid leak if not then take cap off resivior and open bleeder valves just enough to let them bleed out on all four wheels KEEP THE RESIVOIR FULL OF BRAKE FLUID while your doing this .. this procedure should take about 45 min

Bleed breaks pedal still spongy

On these old manual brake systems without automatic adjusters you have to set the shoe clearance by turning the adjuster on each shoe out so the shoe is very close to the drum. If there is too much clearance between the shoe and drum the shoe will move as far as it can and never touch the drum, this will make a low or no pedal pressure.

I have a 1999 chevy k3500. the front drivers side break caliper locked on the rotor as if im stepping on the breaks. i have replacer the caliper with a Napa rebuilt one, and replaced thr ABS system with...

You might have a collapsed brake hose going to that side. It will be the rubber line from the caliper to the frame. You cant tell by looking at it but the inside of it might have collapsed not allowing the fluid to flow back, and only allowing it in. Ive seen this happen before.

I replaced the left front caliper, and now I cannot get the air out of the caliper.

you have to blead the whole brake system fill the break fluid container and put the lid back on get someone to help you you are going to start on the wheel farthest away from the master cylinder the back passenger you will need usualy a 3/8 boxed in wrench find the bleeder valve have youre helper pump the brake pedal up and dow several times and then hold it as hard as they can to the floor then you open the bleeder you will see and hear the fluid coming out close the bleeder and have helper pump breaks and hold again open bleeder again repeat till there is only fluid coming out of bleader it is important that your helper holds break pedal to floor until you get bleader closed next do driver side rear then passenger front then driver front this is how you get all air out of youre break system and be safe on the road i hope this helped you and good luck

I havea 1990 cadillac sedan deville my break pedal

check the master cylinder. It may need to be replaced.. When replacing, make sure to bench bleed it as not doing so would void the warranty.

Our kia amanti's breaks build up and stop the car, then when we use a wrench and blead the line under the hood the breaks start working normally again.

do you mean that you pump the brakes to build up pressure in order to stop?

bleeding brakes requires you to bleed them from each wheel starting at the right rear. procede as follows: have someone sit in the drivers seat. have them pump the brakes slowly and forceably to build up pressure. maintain force on the pedal. starting at the right rear, open the bleed screw slowly. the pedal will go to the floor and the fluid will drain. hold the pedal to the floor and tighten the bleed screw. repeat this procedure several times until you are sure there is no air in the line. follow these steps at each wheel- left rear, right front, left front. keep reservoir filled with fluid. fill after each wheel. (note) get a length of rubber hose that fits snuggly over the end of the bleed screw
and drain fluid into a container.

i think you were draining the anti-lock brake system. in which, case follow the steps above for that also.

Spongy breaks

The reason for spongy breaks is because there is an air pcket tuck somewhere in the system. you will need to blead all the lines. start from the passengers rear thank go to the drivers rear than the passangers front than the drivers front. You need to kep fluid in the resivour while doing this. and you will need to look for a steady stream of brake fluid before closing the bleader valve or yo will not get the air pcket out of the line.

Poor breaks

When you open the breaking system you allow air to enter the break lines and that will cause squishy or weak breaks. You have too "bleed" the air out of the lines now. The way to do this is to have someone help you with this process. They will need to pump the break pedal until the break pedal is stiff and hold pressure on the pedal while you open the valve on the caliper or wheel cylinder(disc or drum) until you have a steady stream of fluid with no air. To ensure you get all the air out you need to start from the passenger rear tire, then driver rear, pass. front, driver front. Make sure you slip one end of a hose over the bleeder valve and the other end in a container so that you don't allow the break fluid to contaminate the new brakes,

Reconnecting caliper to rotor on 2005 pt cruiser

you need to open the caliper bleader valve and release the preasure out of the line. so that the brakes will retrat against the caliber. than you should be able to put them on the rotor. they might be a little snug but they will go on. than close the caliber. now you need to blead the brakes.
1a.Make sure that there is brake fluid in the resivoir.
1b.start the car and have it running until all the brakes have been blead up.
2.Go to the passengers rear and lossen the bleader valve.
3.have someone press the break until you see a steady flow of break fluid comeing out of the line.
4.once that has happend have them press the brake again and hold it to the floor.
5. tighten the bleader valve.
6.go to the drivers rear and follow steps 1-5 again
7.go to the passangers front follow steps 1-5 again
8. go to the driver side front and follow 1-5 again.
you might have to turn the wheel so the person can reach the bleader vavle up front.
Remember to check you fluid after every time you finish with a brake so you do not runn out of fluid and put more air into the lines..... also remeber to alway start with the brake farthest away from the resivoir. you always do them in order 1passanger rear2.drivers rear 3.passangers front. 4. drivers front.
