Heater ac blower inop and only cold air blows on passenger side.

For a time the heater ac blower on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee worked intermittently but does not work at all now. The only climate control is forced air while the vehicle is in motion.

The vent that opens and closes to change from hot to cold air being delivered to the passenger side of the vehicle does not operate and is; I believe, always closed since no heat is delivered during winter months only cold air. This occurs even without the blower operating.

Are these problems connected?

Is this a diy project or best done by a pro? If a diy task where may I acquire detailed instructions?

The blower problem on your jeep needs proper diagnosis. This could be one of several problems.
As simple as a relay or as big as a blower motor. With automatic temperature control you could be looking at a control assembly.

the cold air on the passenger side is a passenger blend door problem. Could be the actuator or a broken door. This problem requires removal of the entire dash to get to the problem. Not something you want to tackle without a complete step by step set of instructions.

I do have one other suggestion for this problem. You will still have to get the blower problem to complete the repair. Copy this link and go see what you think about blend door repair.

2000 grand cherokee heat not working on passenger side and barely blowing on driver's side.....plugged heater core? engine thermostat?

it is the heater blend door.....you can buy the piece off ebay for around 30.00 dollars the dealer can charge upwards of 800 dollars to fix because they take the steering column and dash apart...you can go through the glove box and cut a whole into ac system and access the blend door. old one slides out new one slides in this is farely easy and takes less than an hour

The climate control system is not working right on my 2000 grand cherokee. The drivers side will not put out hot air but the passenger side will. The drivers side gets a little warmer at times but is...

the grand cherokees have a tendancy fot the control doors inside the heater box. they do make a update kit on ebay. most of the require removing dash but some have instructions to cut hole in heater box and replace doors from there.check ebay for blend doors. alot of sites have video instructions on how to fix

Heater on 2000 jeep

most likely there is a door in the dash somewhere that controls the flow of the air. the actuator that controls the door for that side might be bad

Passenger side heater blowing cold, now drivers side the same. Water levels OK no leaks. Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hi, you have a problem with your flaps that control the hot and cold air, there are flaps in the dash and they are made out of plastic and the like to break so you will have to remove the dash and renew those flaps

My 1999 limited does this. When i bought it off the guy he said that its because of some flap down by the passengers left foot. In mine the passenger air barely even blows because of this.

look for Main A/C relay, look for fuses, or go to a/c shop and have gas check out, perhaps leaks, perhaps evaporator, perhaps condenser, but start for relay box on front passengers side, or fuses on same side
