Question about 2003 Toyota Highlander

Intermittent rough idle on 2002 toyota highlander

I have a 2002 highlander with 17200 miles in mint condition.The SUV idles rough while stopped but not all the time.Sometimes it feels like a miss and than it will be ok.I have had it to Toyota and they cleaned the idle air valve which improved it but it's progressively getting worse again.Do you think the idle valve needs to be replaced? I'm going to take it back in but would like advice before I do.Jim

My mechanic cleaned out my whole throttle body and I still have this misterious rough idle problem on my 03 with 112K miles. He thinks it may be the motor mounts though they are not leaking. I just noticed that when I turn the wheel just until there is resistance at idle in gearthe rough idle goes away. What next?

Before you do this I would get some wooden qtips - the long ones auto detailers use. take off the air filtrer assembly and spray carb cleaner into the air\fuel intake and use the qtip to wipe out the inside of the intake. I had the same problem with my highlander a year ago and this fixed the problem.

I have an 1994 Acura integra ls n swapped a b18c on it n I have an idling problem, my idle goes up and down..what can be the cause of this

2012 brand new suburban rough idle

I too have brand new 2012 Chev Suburban with rough idle. Dealer says "operating as designed" but admits to lots of complaints.

My 2002 4 cylinder highlander intermittent has starting problems. It will seem like it starts then will die.I have to hit the gas pedal couple times then it starts. Could it be time to change spark plugs?...

It could be all the above plus it could also be a bad fuel pump.My best suggestion would be have your plugs changed and take a look at them if there is a high carbon build up then check your air filter,ignition components and your engine control systems.If they have a gray or tan colored build up then there burning ok. I would try a tune up first to see what kind of response you get before going at the engine components.Also it wouldn't hurt to have the fuel pressure tested to make sure its at the proper pressure to eliminate the fuel pump.

99 toyota 4-runner low idle, and hard start in cooler weather

Take ur suv to the nearest high point...Get out of the suv, put it in neutral..and firmly push off of cliff. Problems solved. report it stolen the next morning.

2002 Highlander PO136 Error Code and Rough Idle

The po136 code is a bad 02 sensor, on cylinder bank #1
sensor #2, which is the downstream one. needs new one.

2002 Chevy Suburban idling rough in park and at stop lights.

the computer might have set up to a bad mix from the fuel additive or could have damaged the ox sensor .remove the battery terminal for 5 min replace and see what happens , worth a shot before you spend out money
