IF the guage is not working and you changed the sender, it is the guage. You cannot get just a guage, you have to replace the whole instrument panel or send the one that you have out for repair.

THE FEUL GAUGE ON MY 2002 BUICK LASABRE DON'T WORK. WHAT COULD THAT BE?

You can typically expect that the sender unit in the fuel tank has failed and requires replacement. You can sometimes access this from an inspection panel, beneath the rear seats and carpet, but often you have to drain and drop the tank out to get to it.

1970 Ford F100 Gas Gauge Not Working

It may be the sending unit in the tank that needs replacing. Here's how you can check: Turn the key on and disconnect the sender unit at the gas tank. Ground the sender unit's wire with a jumper wire from the truck's harness to ground. Watch the gauge. If the gauge on the dash is good, grounding the sender wire will cause the gauge needle to react and should move to full. This would indicate a new sending unit is required. If the gauge doesn't move when the sender unit is grounded, the gauge is bad and needs replacing. Pull the instrument cluster out to replace the gas gauge. Likely any old ford gas gauge might work-back then, there were not so many production changes.

Gas gauge

Guess I'd have to see your gauge to understand what you mean by it turns in a circle. If the gauge is bad you will have to remove the instrument cluster to access it.
If you ground the fuel guage sender wire from the tank's sender unit you can determine whether the gauge itself or the sender unit in the tank is bad. Here's how: Unplug connector at tank. Locate the right wire (gauge sender wire) in the connector and jumper it to a good ground. Observe dash gauge when you turn key to on. If the gauge is good it will move up to half or full when grounded. Then problem is likely the sender unit in tank. But if gauge doesn't move, then it's likely the gauge itself.
Good luck.

I have a 2005 Ford Taurus SEL. My Control Panel keeps intermittently displaying FUEL LEVEL ERR. I know I have gas, but when this happens, the gauge doesn' move. After drivin

this problem sounds like the fuel level sender in the gas tank is not working and needs to be changed. not many problems are in the dash in these vehicles so I would definatley go to the gas tank sender first.

I just had my fuel pump replaced and now my fuel gauge is way off. I can't tell when I'm on empty, I know it's somewhere between the half tank mark and full, but I don't know. I need to...

Whoever replaced your fuel pump, damaged the the fuel level sender when they did the pump repair. The fuel level sender is attached to the same assembly that the pump is mounted in. You will need to have the shop that did the repair, remove the the gas tank again and repair the sender or replace the entire sender/pump assembly.

99 audi a4 no gas gauge stuck on E

Your fuel sending unit isn't working. Most of the time it's a broken wire on the sender or dirty contacts on the resistive element. Remove the sender and repair the wire and clean the contacts. It's accessible through a port in the trunk.
