Just moved to Denver from Louisiana. I've been here a month. my truck ran fine until @ a 2 weeks ago. the problem got progressively worse. At first i just had to wait for the truck to warm up before driving. Then it would start run for a 10-20 sec then die, and then run fine after that. Then it would die more than once. Now it starts every time (though with more effort than normal) but dies every time after @ 5-10 sec.
SOURCE: do i need a turbo timer for an intercooled diesel engin..isuzu...
Yes it pays to have a Turbo timer or let it run for 3 minutes after an outing.
An Intercooler is usually fitted to turbo charged engines. It cools the air entering the engine making it denser,Thats why cars go really well on frosty mornings after they reach running temp.
Hope this helps.

Check your tps with a ohm meter and see if you are getting varable resistance if you do not repace it and it will shift.I hope this helps you?
Testimonial: "Thanks for the advise it was helpful just a pain in the *** to find the tps my book doesnt show one for the diesel engines."

Fuel filter is plugged or, if your in a cold climate the fuel could be gelled.
Testimonial: "i went on a hunch that the fuel was gelled up and put her in a heated garage for a couple hrs. and shes back to running good thanks for the help "

If the clicks sound like a chattering or rapid clicking, it is probably the relay that feeds the solenoid, or a bad connection at the solenoid. You can disconnect one glow plug, and connect a 12 volt test light between the connector and ground and see if it flickers when you turn the key to the WAIT/ON position.
If you have a meter, you can check the circuit in the same manner, but it may be difficult to see any rapid voltage changes, depending on your meter.
In any event, there should be steady power to your glow plugs until the WAIT light goes out. If you do not have steady power at a glow plug connector, check the relay input to the solenoid in the same manner. If you have good power there, the problem is between the solenoid and battery. If power is not steady at the solenoid input, either the relay is bad or a connection is dirty,
